Earth is in crisis, and animal agriculture is a leading cause.
At Project Animal Freedom, we are committed to addressing the rapidly worsening climate and ecological emergency facing all life on Earth.
That commitment is why we founded the Worldwide Vegan Climate March in August of 2021.
The Worldwide Vegan Climate March aims to:
expose animal ag’s insidious role in the present ecological crisis
champion veganism as an environmental imperative
demand a plant-based food system
Why?
Animal agriculture accounts for more greenhouse gas emissions than every mode of transportation on Earth combined, even by the most conservative estimates.
Even if we ended all fossil fuel use today, we would still exceed our 565-gigaton CO2 emissions limit by 2030—all from raising animals for food!
There is therefore no way to achieve climate stability without addressing the cow in the room.

Project Animal Freedom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to build a fully vegan Midwest by 2056 through a strategic, chapter-based system. We strive to build thriving animal rights communities in every major city across the Midwest, and we organize dozens of events every year in pursuit of this goal, including our Worldwide Vegan Climate March and Vegan Climate Summit.
